Inman Aligner

The smart solution for crowded or protruding teeth.

Affordable Straightening

Wearing an Inman Aligner can adjust and straighten your front teeth in a few months of treatment. Working with constant force over a wide range of movement, amazing results are reached quicker than most other orthodontic treatments. Though lesser known, the effective aligner could be exactly what your teeth need.

What is an Inman Aligner?

The Inman Aligner is a removable orthodontic appliance used to align a patient’s front teeth quickly. It is ideal for less severe orthodontics cases. This dental aligner provides both top and bottom teeth straightening and patients may wear it on either jaw.

How do Inman Aligners work?

Each Inman Aligner contains two ‘bows’: one that sits behind your teeth and pushes them forwards, and one that sits in front to pull them back. These opposing forces act together to bring your front teeth into the correct position. Patients needs to wear the aligner for 16 to 20 hours every day. If worn properly, the aligner can generate results in as little as 6 weeks. However, results often take between 8 and 12 weeks to be complete.

Who can get an Inman Aligner?

Both teens and adults can get an Inman Aligner to correct the positioning of their front teeth. Its primary purpose is straightening teeth for adults who underwent orthodontic treatment in their younger years but have seen a gradual shift of their teeth back to an incorrect position. This happens when retainers are not worn after an initial treatment to fully set the teeth.

Getting an Inman Aligner

We go through a complete process to ensure the aligner will work for you, and provide the best opportunity for success.

  1. Physical Exam: Your dentist will examine your teeth and determine how significant a teeth straightening treatment course you need. If your front teeth are not severely misplaced, an Inman Aligner should be able to treat them and correct their positioning.

  2. Impressions: To correctly fabricate the aligner to suit your teeth, we take impressions of your teeth. This helps the aligner sit comfortably in your mouth and create the appropriate force to reposition your front teeth.

  3. Initial Fitting: Once we create the aligner, we have an initial fitting to ensure it fits your mouth and will exert enough pressure. Patients wear the aligner for the majority of the day, so ensuring it sits comfortably is a top priority.

  4. Check Ups: To ensure treatment is going as well as possible, we recommended undergoing a check up with your dentist every 2 to 3 weeks. This will help them correct any potential issues and ensure your aligner is in appropriate functional condition.

  5. Retain: Once treatment has finished, patients need to wear a retainer to ensure that teeth remain in their new positions, and they will need no further orthodontic treatment.

FAQs

How much does an Inman aligner cost?

The cost for your Inman Aligner treatment will depend on your individual course. The aligner is typically a cheaper option than other orthodontic methods like Invisalign and fixed braces. Get in touch with our team for a detailed breakdown of your potential costs.

Your aligners should always be clean before you put them on your teeth. Use a soft toothbrush with cool water and then rinse thoroughly. Also ensure you are brushing and flossing your teeth before reinserting them.

Wearing an Inman Aligner is not designed to be a comprehensive orthodontic solution in the way that Invisalign is. It is geared towards adult teeth straightening for those who did not wear their retainer properly after earlier orthodontic treatment, like braces. The aligners particularly straighten the front four teeth on the upper and lower jaw. Invisalign by contrast provides a fuller solution to teeth straightening throughout the mouth.
