Fast Braces

A quick and safe alternative to traditional braces.

What are Fast Braces?

Fast Braces are a new orthodontics treatment technology that work to comfortably straighten teeth faster than traditional braces. They work to move the roots of teeth with fewer wires or adjustments than traditional braces, requiring only light force to straighten teeth safely. These orthodontic services are suitable for children, teens and adults.

How do they work?

Traditional braces typically work in a two-stage treatment process, moving the crown of the tooth and then the root. Fast Braces accomplish this process in one single treatment phase, where the entire tooth, top to bottom, moves simultaneously. They make use of using triangular brackets combined with a super-elastic wire to move the teeth in a natural way.

Traditional braces vs Fast Braces

Fast Braces are a low friction, low sensitivity alternative to traditional braces designed to exert gentle force without being uncomfortable. By moving the entire tooth in one process, these braces often bypass the need for tooth extraction, making the entire treatment much quicker and less uncomfortable. These quicker alternatives can be used to treat almost every misalignment issue that traditional braces treat.

Benefits of Fast Braces

Different orthodontic treatments all come with their own processes and timelines, but Fast Braces are one of the best at balancing thorough treatment with speed and efficiency.

  • Extraction-free: Other orthodontic treatments often require tooth extractions to make room for movement, but Fast Braces are almost entirely extraction-free, meaning you preserve your existing healthy teeth.
  • Easier to clean and maintain: Due to the smaller, triangular brackets, cleaning between and around teeth to remove debris, food particles and plaque is easier. This helps to avoid stains on your teeth and maintain oral health.
  • Comfort: The flexible wire combines with the smaller brackets to reduce sliding friction, ensuring teeth are moved as gently as possible and without significant pain.
  • Affordable: Fast Braces are arguably the most affordable braces option. Quicker treatment means that patients go for fewer dental visits, saving time, money and energy.
  • Aftercare: Traditional braces require an extensive post-treatment process of wearing a retainer at all times except when eating. When removed, a patient only needs to wear a retainer for 15 minutes a day or while sleeping.

Unfortunately, while they are an innovative alternative, Fast Braces are not suitable for everyone. Come visit us for an assessment and we can recommend the best teeth straightening treatment for you.

FAQs

What do Fast Braces treat?

Fast Braces treat a variety of dental and orthodontic issues, such as: overcrowding of teeth; high canines; overbite; crossbite; crooked teeth; gaps; and spacing issues.

Fast Braces are suitable for all the same age ranges as traditional ranges, with the most effective treatment typically occurring between 9 and 15 years old. However, there are progressively more adults with braces — there is no age limit on getting your perfect smile!

Unfortunately, they may be less effective at treating complex orthodontic issues, and traditional braces may be the better options. We do not recommended this treatment for people with impacted teeth or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.

There are a number of signs that can indicate that you need braces. These can include:

  • Visibly crowded or crooked teeth
  • Difficulty flossing between and brushing around your teeth
  • Teeth not closing properly over each other when your mouth is at rest
  • Jaws that click when you wake up or while chewing
  • Feeling stress on your jawline

A treatment course can be completed in as little as 3 months depending on the severity of your orthodontic issues. Most patients will see significant results in up to 12 months, approximately reducing treatment time compared to traditional braces by half!

Depending on the severity of your orthodontic needs, Fast Braces may be a much better option than traditional braces, able to treat all of your needs in less time and at a lower cost. However, for more complex issues, traditional braces may be your only option for adequate treatment.

If you are experiencing braces pain, you can take light analgesics like Panadol or Nurofen to relieve the discomfort. Pain relief can be particularly useful at night to help you get a good night’s sleep. Typically you will be able to stop taking pain relief after a couple weeks.

We can also give you special braces wax which covers the brackets and acts as a barrier to prevent irritation and pain. However, we suggest not relying it on too much, to give you the best chance to adapt to the feeling of braces in your mouth.
